How to Conduct Elections

Unit elections are held once a year per troop between Mid-November and March 15. Unit elections are to be conducted by official election teams. Elections conducted by the troop will not be honored.

Each chapter should have a youth in charge of coordinating elections within their chapter, using contact lists and forms from the Lodge. This youth is the Vice Chief of the Chapter or his designee. The youth should have an adult advisor. Together, they arrange to contact every unit in the chapter to see if an election is desired and when.

The youth create election teams. Some chapters assign their teams to regions of their chapter. An election team should consist of at least 2 youth and 1 adult. Youth should practice their presentation ahead of time to make a great impression on the troop.

If your troop would like to schedule a unit election or simply an informational presentation about the Order of the Arrow, please contact us!
